Netball Ontario is always looking for umpires who are willing to officiate at training sessions as well as division matches during the winter and summer seasons. For this reason, the province is expected to provide umpires qualified to umpire at the Provincial level and also for umpires to be recommended for testing at the National Certification level.
 
Although it is important to the organization that the umpires are of a high standard, every opportunity is given to encourage newly qualified umpires to improve their skills and for new umpires to be qualified.  The Umpiring Committee aims to ensure a senior umpire is on hand to offer support and encouragement.
