Position Title: Registered Dietician
Term of Office: 8-30 minutes sessions beginning February 2010
Reports to: Coaching Director
Purpose of the position:
The objective of the Express ‘N Play program is to provide opportunities for girls and young women ages 5 – 24 to participate in physical activities through the sport of Netball, which will encourage fair play and teamwork; and build positive health and fitness habits, while creating a positive environment that fosters self-confidence and high self-esteem. The Registered Dietician will teach Netball participants in after school programs and at drop-in programs at community centres the basic rules of a good diet, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to promote a healthy lifestyle.
Location: North Bridlewood Junior School, 50 Collingsbrook Blvd., Scarborough
Duties and Responsibilities:
· To liaise with the Express ‘N Play Program Coordinator.
· Counsel individuals on basic rules of good diet, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring.
· Advise individuals on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, and food selection and preparation.
· Develops nutrition lesson plans.
· Prepare nutrition education handouts.
Terms of work/service: Selected Thursday’s, 4:00 - 4:30 p.m. (30 minutes)
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree specializing in foods and nutrition, as well as a period of practical training in a hospital or community setting.
Compensation: $120.00 per hour
